MORE Dad-Ventures

MORE Dad-Ventures

Part of the motivation for setting up More Toddler Meals was to cast a light on the insanity of parenthood and fatherhood more specifically. 'Insane' can be used to describe a number of different situations. Like after going down a particularly tricky ski run "man that was insane" or describing an awkward encounter with someone "woah that guy was insane".

I think it's an apt description of being a parent as kids radically change your perspective on life, the way in which you try and get through each day and your ability to dynamically problem solve.

Being a Dad to my two boys is without a doubt the best part of my life. They drive me insane at times, they are insane at times and they have fundamentally changed my sanity. But it is, for the most part, an hilarious and emotionally fuelled adventure.

The purpose of this blog is to shine a personal light on parenting by sharing some anecdotes from the last few years (sometimes I forget how old my kids are) and, hopefully, paint a positive picture of the unique insanity of parenting in today's world.

All too often the hardship of parenting with the constant need to juggle an ever increasing number of competing demands is the driving narrative in society which casts a cloud over the overriding joy raising kids affords. There's no doubt it is hard, testing and crazy at times but it is the single biggest way to give life value and meaning. I hope you find this entertaining, thought provoking and of some interest as you, like me, try and figure out the decades long adventure of being a parent.
